5-Minute Mental Health Check

It's perfectly healthy for us to do self check-ins with to maintain our mental health. Doing frequent check-ins with yourself allows you to be proactive with what you're dealing with mentally, physically, emotionally and sometimes, spiritually.

As we approach the month of May, which happens to be Mental Health Month, it's time to take a pulse on how you can maintain your overall wellness. Here are a few questions you can ask yourself, that takes less than 5 minutes, for you to clear your mind:

  • Are you stretching your muscles?

  • Are you eating healthy meals regularly?

  • Have you had good sleep?

  • Are you being nice to yourself and others?

  • Are you remaining hydrated?

  • How are you feeling overall?

On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate your overall mental health? Have you been asking yourself these questions lately?

Depending on what your answers are, you may be able to eliminate oncoming stress, anxiety, and depression. Whether you're worried about family issues, an upcoming job interview or any number of anxiety disorders, pausing to take a quick mental health check will keep you feeling good overall.

It's never fun to feel stressed out, so taking your mental health by the reins will prevent you from behaving irrationally. It's important to remember that these feelings are normal and relatable to everyone across different ethnicities, backgrounds, professional experiences and lifestyles. While there are many ways for you to take control over your own healing, don't ever be afraid of asking for help if you feel yourself struggling. It could just be the change you need in order to feel like you're winning at life!
